This Privacy Policy explains how Swahili World collects, uses, and protects information for our social and language-learning app.

Information We Collect

How We Use Information

We use information to create and secure accounts, provide language-learning features, display social content, deliver notifications, enable messaging and calls, operate maps and marketplace features, process subscriptions, provide support, prevent abuse, and improve the app.

Sharing

We share information with service providers that help us run Swahili World, including hosting, storage, push notifications, subscription entitlement processing, and analytics or operational tooling. We may share information when required by law, to protect users, or during a business transfer.

Public and Social Features

Profile details, posts, comments, follows, approved map pins, and marketplace listings may be visible to other users depending on the feature. Messages are intended for conversation participants, but may be reviewed when necessary for safety, support, or legal compliance.

Data Retention

We keep information while your account is active and as needed for service operation, legal obligations, dispute resolution, safety, fraud prevention, and backups. Some content may remain in limited records after deletion where required for security or legal compliance.

Your Choices

You can update profile information in the app, manage subscriptions through your Apple account or Google Play account, disable push notifications in device settings, and request account deletion as described on our Delete Account page.

Children

Swahili World is an adults-only service intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account or provided personal information, email swahiliworld2024@gmail.com so we can remove the account and delete the information.

Our Child Safety Standards describe how we prevent, detect, and respond to child sexual abuse and exploitation.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including hashed passwords and access controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
